Full dentures
Full dentures replace an entire arch of missing teeth, upper or lower. They rest on the gum and are held in place by suction and the shape of the mouth. Acrylic is the standard material, durable and well-established. Most patients adapt to full dentures within a few weeks as the muscles of the mouth learn to hold and work with the new teeth.
Partial dentures
Partial dentures replace one or more missing teeth where some natural teeth remain. They are attached to the remaining teeth with small clasps and can be removed for cleaning. Flexible partial dentures use a softer material than acrylic and tend to sit more comfortably against the gum tissue, with no visible metal clasps.

Denture, bridge or implant: which is right for you?

Dental bridges: a fixed option for missing teeth
A dental bridge is a fixed restoration that fills the gap left by one or more missing teeth. The false tooth, called a pontic, is anchored to crowns placed on the natural teeth on either side of the gap. Once fitted, a bridge is not removed. It looks, feels, and functions like a natural tooth.
Bridges are a good option when the teeth on either side of the gap are already in need of crowns, or when a fixed, non-removable solution is preferred and an implant is not appropriate or not wanted. The procedure involves preparing the anchor teeth, taking impressions, and fitting a laboratory-made bridge at a second appointment.
